THE BIG PIC CLASH Endurance Miami kicked off the US race season on Friday 11 March with a small field vying for honours. Only 18 pros lined up in the women’s race, which was won by Australia’s Ashleigh Gentle (2:59:41) with an 8min margin, while 48 male athletes (including USA’s Robbie Deckard, pictured here) tackled the 1.7km swim, 62.7km bike and 16.9km run. US long-distance pro Sam Long took the tape with a time of 2:39:55, fighting back after a frantic swim start that saw him way down the field in 32nd place.
