Jonathan Brownlee has broken his elbow after a bike crash at the Leeds WTCS race in Roundhay park yesterday afternoon.

The local hero was brought down by Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Hayden Wilde, who has admitted fault and passed on his sincere apologies to Brownlee as well as his teammate Alex Yee and Wilde’s teammate Dylan Mulloch, all of whom DNF’d because of the incident.

Wilde meanwhile was able to continue racing and win his first WTCS event.
