One of triathlon’s most exciting formats is set to return later this year. Here’s what you need to know
One of the sport’s most exciting events is set to return later this year, with Super League Triathlon today announcing the dates for its 2023 championship series.
Four races have been confirmed and they’ll be returning to the same locations as last year.
The series will get started in London on 27 August, where Hayden Wilde and Cassandre Beaugrand ran out winners in an exciting race and marked themselves as the ones to beat.
It’ll then head to Toulouse, France, on 3 September. Last year it was a second win for Wilde and the first of the series for Georgia Taylor-Brown.
On 30 September the series heads stateside, with a race set to take place in Malibu. It was an eventful weekend last year, with Vasco Vilica bitten by a seal in training, Wilde taking his third win on the bounce and Taylor Spivey securing the win in the women’s race.

As it did last year, the series will come to its conclusion in NEOM, Saudi Arabia, with the race set to take place on 21 October.
It’s here that we’ll see the championship winners crowned. Last year, Wilde finished third and took the series win, while Taylor-Brown’s second series win ahead of fellow Brit Sophie Coldwell saw her secure the women’s trophy.
As it has done in previous years, the race series is attracting the best short-course triathletes on the planet.
That means fans are in for a treat as the likes of Wilde, Alex Yee, Matt Hauser, Jonny Brownlee, Taylor-Brown, Spivey, Coldwell and Beth Potter go head-to-head.
If the last couple of years are anything to go by, it’s going to be fast and furious, and the good news is that you can watch it all unfold for free.
A feast for the eyes
The series will be taking place during a busy period for triathlon, with the following events happening in the space of just a couple of months:
- 29-30 July: WTCS Sunderland
- 4-5 August: PTO US Open
- 17-20 August: Paris Olympic test event
- 26-27 August: Ironman 70.3 World Championship
- 10 September: Men’s Ironman World Championship
- 19-20 September: PTO Asian Open
- 23-24 September: WTCS Finals in Pontevedra
