The U23 World Champs silver medallist took victory in Hamburg in September and leads a powerful German team, including <strong>Jonas Schomburg<\/strong> \u2013 the only athlete lining up in Abu Dhabi who\u2019s all six previous editions of the race.<\/p>\n<p>Hellwig will have his work cut out against some more established names, however. Not least one <strong>Vincent Luis<\/strong>, the two-time world champion and <strong><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/tokyo-2020-great-britain-win-gold-in-olympic-mixed-team-relay\/&quot;\">Olympic relay bronze medallist<\/a><\/strong>. First up, we have the reigning <strong><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/womens-olympic-triathlon-flora-duffy-wins-gold-in-tokyo\/&quot;\">Olympic champion<\/a><\/strong> and world Champion <strong>Flora Duffy (BER)<\/strong> on the start line, who, despite 11 World Triathlon Championship Series\u2019 race wins under her belt, has yet to achieve victory in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n<p>Chasing her down will be rising USA Triathlon star, <strong>Taylor Knibb<\/strong>, who\u2019s <strong><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/wtcs-final-taylor-knibb-enjoys-stunning-solo-success-as-flora-duffy-seals-olympic-world-title-double\/&quot;\">proven multiple times<\/a><\/strong> over the last few months that very few can match her on the bike leg across all distances. If she gets out of the water with the lead group, she\u2019ll be dictating the race pace from the start of the 20km ride.<\/p>\n<p>But if anyone can match her on bike speed and strength it\u2019s the current <strong><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/ironman-70-3-world-championship-lucy-charles-barclay-delivers-stunning-victory\/&quot;\">70.3 world champion<\/a><\/strong>,<strong> Lucy Charles-Barclay<\/strong>, who has Paris 2024 in her crosshairs. Taylor-Brown has never podium\u2019d before in Abu Dhabi, whereas Learmonth has two silver medals from the UAE capital.<\/p>\n<p>Also lining up for Great Britain will be <strong><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/gwen-jorgensen-crowned-rio-olympic-champion\/&quot;\">Rio 2016 bronze medallist<\/a><\/strong> <strong>Vicky Holland, Beth Potter <\/strong>and<strong> Non Stanford<\/strong>.
