Jonathan Brownlee<\/a> has broken his elbow after a bike crash at the Leeds WTCS race in Roundhay park yesterday afternoon. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The local hero was brought down by Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Hayden Wilde<\/strong><\/a>, who has admitted fault and passed on his sincere apologies to Brownlee as well as his teammate Alex Yee<\/strong><\/a> and Wilde\u2019s teammate Dylan Mulloch, all of whom DNF\u2019d because of the incident.<\/p>\n

Wilde meanwhile was able to continue racing and win his first WTCS event<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Posting on his Instagram page, Brownlee shared an image of himself sat in hospital with his left arm in a sling. He also wrote, \u201cI know these happen in sport but the racing is definitely getting more dangerous and it is down to a select few athletes. We need to look after each other better.\u201d<\/p>\n
