Roth has been a staple in the triathlon calendar almost since the sport\u2019s inception. A typical \u2018A race\u2019 for some of triathlon\u2019s finest, Roth is where Jan Frodeno set the long-distance triathlon world record back in 2015 with a time of 7:35:39. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Not only will this year\u2019s DATEV Challenge Roth be a special 20^{th<\/sup> edition race, it\u2019ll also be a homecoming of sorts for the record holder, who has confirmed he\u2019ll be racing after having recovered from an Achilles tendon injury:<\/p>\n}
\u201cIn the last few months, I\u2019ve noticed I need a set goal again and there is no more fantastic race than\u00a0Roth. The spectators and the whole community are just overwhelming. I hope to see as many fans there as possible\u201d, says Frodeno.<\/p>\n
A world-class field is set to toe the start line on Sunday 3 July, with four world champions down to race, including a German battle between Ironman world champions Patrick Lange and Sebastian Kienle. The USA\u2019s Sam Long and Maurice Clavel (GER) will also be looking to push the pace at the front.<\/p>\n
On the women\u2019s side, last year\u2019s podium is set to return in the shape of current Ironman World Champion Anne Haug and British elites Laura Siddall and Fenella Langridge. They\u2019ll have the women\u2019s world record in their sights set on the very same course in 2011 by Chrissie Wellington in a time of 8:18:13.<\/p>\n
