Our thoughts and well wishes are with Paralympic<\/a> medallist George Peasgood<\/a> and his family following a serious incident last Saturday. <\/strong><\/p>\n

An Instagram statement from Peasgood\u2019s girlfriend and fellow pro cyclist Frankie Hall published on Sunday 10 October shares that Peasgood had had a \u201cfreak accident\u201d while cycling with Hall the day prior, with \u201cno other parties involved\u201d.<\/p>\n

Hall goes on to share that Peasgood is being treated in critical care for a \u201cdiffuse axonal injury\u201d, among other injuries, and is currently still unconscious.<\/p>\n

According to John Hopkins Medicine, \u2018Diffuse axonal injury is the shearing (tearing) of the brain\u2019s long connecting nerve fibers (axons) that happens when the brain is injured as it shifts and rotates inside the bony skull.\u2019<\/p>\n

We at 220 Triathlon would like to send our sincerest well wishes to Peasgood, his family and loved ones during this difficult time.<\/p>\n
