Athletes will be returning to the red-rock landscape of St George, Utah, for the second time this year after the rescheduled 2021 full-distance championship in May. <\/strong><\/p>\n Taking place just three weeks after the Ironman World Championships in Kona, many of the same faces are expected to make the trip across to St George for the 70.3 champs.<\/p>\n With Brit Lucy Charles-Barclay<\/strong><\/a> making an impressive comeback from injury to take the runner-up slot in Kona, she could be returning to defend her 2021 title which saw her take the 70.3 world crown for the first time<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Five-time 70.3 champ Daniela Ryf<\/a><\/strong> may also be looking to redeem her eighth place in Kona in a race that left her feeling contemplative, \u201csometimes you win, sometimes you learn<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d she said post-race.<\/p>\n Newly-crowned Kona champion Norway\u2019s Gustav Iden<\/a> <\/strong>will be returning to St George to put it all on the line for that double world champion title over Ironman 70.3 and long-distance, after successfully defending the crown in 2021 with an emphatic victory<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n His training partner Kristian Blummenfelt<\/a> <\/strong>and 2021 Ironman world champion<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0over the St George course, will be hoping to steal the title from Iden, after finishing third in Kona.<\/p>\n The USA\u2019s Sam Long<\/a> <\/strong>and Dane Daniel Baekkegard<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0could also be lining up to defend their 2021 podium spots.<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div> <\/section> \u00a0<\/p>\n The Ironman 70.3 World Championship will be streamed live from St George and will be available to watch via OutsideTV<\/a> <\/strong>with updates available on the Ironman YouTube Channel<\/a> <\/strong>and Facebook Live<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n The 70.3 World Championship will take place in St George, Utah.
