From 17-20 August 2023, the world’s best Olympic and Paralympic triathletes will be racing the Paris Olympic and Paralympic 2024 courses for the first time. Here’s how you can follow the action\u2026 <\/p>

It\u2019s that time of year again when we look forward to the Olympic and Paralympic Games Test Events! And this one is set to be an absolute corker. Here we detail everything you need to know about the all-important Test Events and how you can watch every single second of the action.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Where are the Test Events being held?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In France\u2019s formidable capital, Paris.<\/p>\n

The City of Lights will be hosting the 2024 Olympic Games from 26 July to 11 August 2024 (the men\u2019s race is on 30 July; the women\u2019s 31 July; the mixed relay on 5 August) and the Paralympic Games from 28 August to 8 September 2024 (paratriathlon events take place on 1 and 2 September).<\/p>\n

When are the Paris Test Events taking place?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

From 17-20 August, so expect toasty-hot racing conditions for all competitors over the four days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Who\u2019s racing the Paris Test Events?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Start lists are yet to be announced but anyone hoping to be on that Parisian pontoon come next summer will be vying for a spot at this year\u2019s Test Events.<\/p>\n

What are the courses like for the Paris Test Events?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Paris Olympic and Paralympic triathlon courses<\/strong><\/a> were announced at the end of April this year, and, like London 2012, take in some of the city\u2019s major tourist attractions.<\/p>\n

Three course routes were revealed to cover the men\u2019s and women\u2019s individual events, the mixed team relay and the Paralympic paratriathlon races.<\/p>\n

The Test Events are the ideal opportunity for athletes and coaching staff to see how best to navigate each course, where they might be able to make up time advantages, how the weather might play a role, etc.<\/p>\n

All events will begin from a floating pontoon that\u2019ll branch off the base of the Pont Alexandre III bridge, where there will also be a spectator stand with capacity for 1,000 people to watch the start, transitions and finish.<\/p>\n

The swim takes place in the Seine, after which athletes will take in Le Grand Palais, Le Petit Palais, l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e Nationale, Le Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Orsay, Avenue des Champs-Elys\u00e9es (with the Arc de Triomphe in their sights), Avenue Montaigne, Quai d\u2019Orsay and Quai Anatole France, as well as Boulevard Saint-Germain on the bike and run legs.<\/p>\n

Throughout the route there\u2019ll be space for fans to gather and cheer on the athletes, for free, again as in London 2012.<\/p>\n
