She entered the London Triathlon having barely ridden a road bike, but such was her speed on the run that she finished an extraordinary sixth in her very first race.<\/p><p>Since then, she\u2019s truly riding the heights of the multisport world. A two-time world duathlon champion, along with also being the winner of the aquathlon world title, it\u2019s been at 70.3 distance that Pallant-Browne has shown exceptional high-level consistency, thanks particularly to those superlative, usually incomparable running splits.<\/p><p>Her 70.3 victories now number into double figures, while she\u2019s also racked up plenty of wins in the Challenge Family series of half-distance events. <\/p><p>Along the way, she\u2019s also picked up a silver and bronze at the 70.3 worlds, although the gold continues to elude her.<\/p><h2 id=\"h-how-old-is-emma-pallant-browne\"><strong>How old is Emma Pallant-Browne?<\/strong><\/h2><p>Emma Pallant-Browne was born on 6 April 1989, making her 34 years of age.<\/p><h2 id=\"h-emma-pallant-browne-s-career-highlights\"><strong>Emma Pallant-Browne\u2019s career highlights<\/strong><\/h2><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2022\/07\/triathlete-emma-pallant-browne-b2f2ad3.jpg\" alt=\"Emma Pallant-Browne competes in Ironman 70.3 Mallorca in 2017\" class=\"wp-image-107480\" title=\"Ironman 70.3 Mallorca\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">In a race where she&#8217;ll finish second, Emma Pallant-Browne competes in the run leg of Ironman 70.3 Mallorca in 2017. It\u2019s a title she retains the following June, with victory in Windsor.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-july-2014-first-success-on-the-international-stage\"><strong>July 2014: First success on the international stage<\/strong><\/h3><p>Pallant-Browne takes an impressive third in the ETU European Cup race in Geneva, ahead of compatriots <a href=\"\/news\/athletes\/who-is-india-lee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>India Lee<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"\/news\/athletes\/who-is-jess-learmonth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Jess Learmonth<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-october-2015-pallant-browne-bags-a-world-title\"><strong>October 2015: Pallant-Browne bags a world title<\/strong><\/h3><p>With two runs and no swim, duathlons are right up the former track runner\u2019s street, as her victory at the ITU Duathlon World Championships in Adelaide attests.<\/p><p>The following June, Pallant-Browne <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/emma-pallant-wins-itu-duathlon-world-championship-for-second-year\/\">retains her crown in the northern Spanish town of Avil\u00e9s<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-september-2016-a-maiden-70-3-victory\"><strong>September 2016: A maiden 70.3 victory<\/strong><\/h3><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1036\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2022\/07\/emma-pallant-browne-weymouth-ironman-2016-e93d7ab.jpg\" alt=\"Emma Pallant-Browne wins Ironman 70.3 Weymouth in 2016\" class=\"wp-image-107477\" title=\"Ironman Weymouth\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Emma Pallant-Browne celebrates her first-ever Ironman 70.3 victory in Weymouth. (Credit: Stephen Pond\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Having made the move to middle-distance racing, Pallant-Browne secures her first IM 70.3 victory in Weymouth.<\/p><p>This season is something of a breakthrough for her in half-Iron competition; she makes the podium in six 70.3 races, including silver in Barcelona and Budapest.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-april-2017-a-first-triumph-in-the-challenge-series\"><strong>April 2017: A first triumph in the Challenge series<\/strong><\/h3><p>Pallant-Browne takes her debut victory in a Challenge race, overcoming a strong field to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/brownlee-and-pallant-set-new-course-records-in-gran-canaria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">break the tape in Gran Canaria<\/a><\/strong> having reined in the likes of fellow Brit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/athletes\/who-is-lucy-charles-barclay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lucy Charles-Barclay<\/a><\/strong> and Switzerland\u2019s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/athletes\/who-is-daniela-ryf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daniela Ryf<\/a><\/strong>. (Credit: Donald Miralle\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>After half-Iron wins in Barcelona and Edinburgh this season, Pallant-Browne travels to Chattanooga for the IM 70.3 World Championships as one of the favourites.<\/p><p>However, she has to settle for silver, having conceded nine minutes to Daniela Ryf on the swim and the bike \u2013 a margin that not even Pallant-Browne\u2019s running ability can make serious in-roads into.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-october-2019-now-into-double-figures-with-70-3-wins\"><strong>October 2019: Now into double figures with 70.3 wins<\/strong><\/h3><p>Pallant-Browne takes her tenth Ironman 70.3 career victory when she wins in Lanzarote in a race shorn of the swim leg due to adverse sea conditions.<\/p><p>As well as climbing onto six 70.3 podiums this season, she also takes Challenge series wins in Gran Canaria and Cape Town.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-september-2021-back-into-the-top-five-at-the-worlds\"><strong>September 2021: Back into the top five at the worlds<\/strong><\/h3><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/46\/2022\/07\/emma-pallant-browne-at-ironman-70-3-boulder-60791b0.jpg\" alt=\"Emma Pallant-Browne takes a bow after winning Ironman 70.3 Boulder in 2021\" class=\"wp-image-107479\" title=\"IRONMAN 70.3 Boulder\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Taking a bow as she crosses the finish line, Emma Pallant-Browne celebrates winning Ironman 70.3 Boulder in 2021. (Credit: Justin Tafoya\/Getty Images for Ironman)<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Pallant-Browne\u2019s season again includes plenty of half-Iron success \u2013 including victories in Florida and Boulder \u2013 but Pallant-Browne has to make do with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/news\/ironman-70-3-world-championship-lucy-charles-barclay-delivers-stunning-victory\/\">fifth place at the IM 70.3 worlds<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p><p>Still, it&#8217;s her best finish there since that silver four years earlier, having finished in a disappointing ninth place in both 2018 and 2019.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-october-2022-a-brilliant-70-3-worlds-bronze\"><strong>October 2022: A brilliant 70.3 Worlds&#8217; bronze<\/strong><\/h3><p>Although she might not see it that way having won four 70.3s (Mallorca, Luxembourg, Elsinore, and Zell am Zee) in the lead-up, Pallant-Browne takes a brilliant <a href=\"\/news\/taylor-knibb-takes-impressive-win-at-ironman-70-3-world-champs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>bronze at the 70.3 Worlds<\/strong><\/a> at the end of October.<\/p><p>She also took silvers at the Challenge Family The Championship in May and at the <a href=\"\/news\/lucy-charles-barclay-wins-2022-world-triathlon-long-distance-championship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>World Triathlon Long Distance Champs<\/strong><\/a> behind Charles-Barclay in August.<\/p><p>At the start of November she wins another 70.3 at Mossel Bay, South Africa.<\/p><h3 id=\"h-may-2023-a-french-first-win-of-the-year\"><strong>May 2023: A French first win of the year <\/strong><\/h3><p>Edges Tamara Jewett (CAN) by 50secs to win Ironman 70.3 Aix-En-Provence in 4:17:30.<\/p><h3>July 2023: Wins in Wales <\/h3><p>Collects a second gold 70.3 medal, this time in Swansea, just two weeks after taking silver in Andorra. <\/p><h3>August 2023: Fourth at the 70.3 Worlds<\/h3><p>Just off the podium but a still superb finish in fourth in Lahti, Finland. <\/p><h3>November 2023: A South African last win of the year<\/h3><p>Ends the year with another win in Mossel Bay, beating her previous course time by 2mins to finish in an impressive 4:21:24. Other results this year include a fourth at the PTO European Open, a bronze at 70.3 Tallinn and a silver at Challenge Samarkand. <\/p><h2 id=\"h-emma-pallant-browne-in-quotes\"><strong>Emma Pallant-Browne in quotes<\/strong><\/h2><p><strong>On the faith that coach Michelle Dillon had in her when turning this track runner into a multisport titan: <\/strong>\u201cWhat struck me was how passionate she was. Most people laughed when I told them I wanted to be a world-class athlete, but Michelle took it seriously.\u201d<\/p><p><strong>On how triathlon altered her in-competition outlook: <\/strong>\u201cIn my running days, I\u2019d pull the plug in a race because I was used to winning. Triathlon has taught me I always have to fight.\u201d<\/p><p><strong>On the attraction of middle- and long-distance racing:<\/strong> \u201cBecause it\u2019s non-drafting, you really have to push hard from the start of the gun for a good four hours and go to some really deep, dark places.
