The most common example in <a href=\"\/training\/beginners\/what-is-a-triathlon\/\">triathlon<\/a> is the bike\/run brick, where a bike session will be followed by a run.<\/strong><\/p><p>An example could be a 30min road bike ride followed by a 10min run straight away after (you can steadily build up the duration and intensity as your triathlon\/duathlon career progresses).<\/p><div class=\"is-layout-flex wp-container-22 is-layout-flex wp-container-15 wp-block-columns highlight-box\"><div class=\"is-layout-flow wp-block-column highlight-box\"><ul><li><strong><a class=\"standard-card-new__article-title\" href=\"https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/training\/off-season-training\/should-i-do-brick-sessions-in-the-off-season\/\">Should I do brick sessions in the off- season?<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li><strong><a class=\"standard-card-new__article-title\" href=\"https:\/\/www.220triathlon.com\/training\/how-many-brick-sessions-should-i-do\/\">How many brick sessions should I do?<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><p>A <strong><a href=\"\/gear\/triathlon\/tri-suits\/best-tri-suits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tri-suit<\/a><\/strong> is a great piece of kit for brick sessions as you won\u2019t need to change clothing, while a brick session will also help you practise swapping your <strong><a href=\"\/gear\/bike\/bike-shoes\/best-triathlon-bike-shoes-reviewed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bike shoes<\/a><\/strong> for <strong><a href=\"\/gear\/run\/run-shoes\/triathlon-race-day-run-shoes-10-of-the-best-for-racing-the-final-leg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">running shoes<\/a><\/strong> at speed in preparation for race day.
