Care for our coasts

“My last long seaside holiday was on Anglesey – a haven of wonderfully diverse coastal landscapes that is a microcosm of the UK as a whole. There are seastacks and islands, dunescapes and sandy strands, discreet coves and marshy estuaries. How blessed we are in the UK to have such an incredible variety of habitats – and globally important populations of seabirds and other marine life to populate them.

Eye spy

Damselflies and dragonflies can be very flighty and take off at the slightest disturbance, but if you’re lucky, you may get a good view of one. Megan Shersby takes a close look at these winged jewels of the water – see if you can spot any of these species or behaviours in the wild

On most normal days, I would despair of my kids being glued to a screen when visiting somewhere as beautiful as Lulworth. Today however, I am actively encouraging it.
