“This is especially impressive”. Mother seal gives birth with volunteers watching from the cliff edge
Volunteers witnessed the moment the new baby arrived – and managed to video the birth while sitting “precariously” on a cliff edge
A new seal pup was born in Smugglers Cave on the Calf of Man with volunteers from the Manx Wildlife Trust watching from a cliff edge. Despite this location being usually hard to monitor, they managed to capture footage of the birth using their drone.

“The site consists of two long caves,” says the Manx Wildlife Trust on Facebook, and “viewing inside meant the team had to sit precariously on the cliff edge.”
