The murder-mystery solving priest, Father Brown, has become rather a favourite with TV viewers. Based on the short stories written by G. K. Chesterton, the TV series began in 2013 and since then has been a regular on our screens.

Where is Father Brown set?

Father Brown is set in the Cotswolds during the 1950s. Father Brown is the Roman Catholic Priest of the fictional Cotswold village of Kembleford, which seems to have more than its fair share of dramas – perhaps even rivalling the equally fictional Midsomer.

Where is Father Brown filmed?

Given it is set in the Cotswolds, it seems right that Father Brown is largely filmed in the Cotswolds.

The Gloucestershire village of Blockley doubles up as Kembleford with the village’s Church of St Peter and St Paul becoming Father Brown’s St Mary Roman Catholic Church, while the vicarage is used as his presbytery.
