Castle Crag is strong, striking and, at 290m, the smallest of the Wainwrights \u2013 the 214 Lake District fells described in Alfred Wainwright\u2019s A <\/em>Pictorial <\/em>Guide <\/em>to <\/em>the <\/em>Lakeland <\/em>Fells <\/em>\u2013 making it the perfect walk for a spring day. <\/p>\n\n

Starting in Grange, follow the path through trees to climb the fell from the west. If you\u2019re lucky enough to be there on a clear day, it\u2019s hard to leave behind the summit\u2019s sweeping views. Make time to see adventurer Millican Dalton\u2019s cave on the way down. <\/p>\n\n
