Since then, Adam has fallen in love with his adopted county: \u201c<\/span>Lincolnshire is a gem. It\u2019s huge \u2013 the diversity of its landscape is incredible. There\u2019s Stamford in the south, a beautiful limestone market town, then across the Fens with big skies and up into the Wolds. Then there\u2019s Lincoln and the coastline\u2026 it doesn\u2019t get e<\/span>nough fanfare.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Doing his bit to showcase his home region, Adam shares his favourite places to visit in the East Midlands, from poet John Clare\u2019s dreamy cottage to a wildflower-filled nature reserve.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cPoet John Clare (1793\u20131864) is one of my heroes,\u201d says Adam. \u201cHelpston is a couple of villages on from me, and I love the walks from Clare\u2019s Cottage. They give you a taste of Lincolnshire \u2013 it\u2019s a good place to start to explore the county.\u201d<\/p>\n You can visit John Clare Cottage<\/a> on Mondays and Thursdays, 10am to 3pm.<\/p>\n Plan your visit to Lincolnshire<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div> \u201cI love the grounds at Burghley House\u2026 some of those oaks and horse chestnuts,\u201d says Adam. \u201cAs sad as this is, I take photos up-close of trees, or take time looking around a tree\u2019s diameter, enjoying encounters with nature.\u201d<\/p>\n Burghley House<\/a> is open to visitors daily (excluding Fridays), 10.30am to 4.30pm. The gardens are open daily, 10.30am to 5pm.<\/p>\n This 450-year-old garden \u2013 with its yew tunnel, long borders, rose meadows, woodland and orchard \u2013 is revered in the gardening world. \u201cSpending time there is lovely,\u201d says Adam.<\/p>\n Easton Walled Gardens<\/a> are open to visitors from mid-February to the end of September, Wednesdays to Sundays, 11am to 4pm.<\/p>\n The site of a medieval quarry, this wildflower-strewn area is now a national nature reserve, described by the Woodland Trust as \u201cone of Britain\u2019s most important wildlife sites\u201d.<\/p>\n Barnack Hills and Holes National Nature Reserve<\/a> is open to visitors all year round.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Lincolnshire countryside and coastline are stunning,\u201d says Adam, \u201cbut it\u2019s freezing when the<\/span> wind comes in! I\u2019m a sucker for woods and their sense of shelter. To be in a wood and the only person there \u2013 that\u2019s near-paradise. I\u2019d live and die in a wood.
