Start<\/h4><p>At the exit to Finsbury Park station turn left, cross Stroud Green Road and head through the gated entrance to Finsbury Park. After 100m, bear left on a tarmac footpath, then left again shortly afterwards to go uphill.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"8256\" height=\"5504\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/47\/2023\/11\/Finsbury-Park.jpg\" alt=\"Sunset in a Finsbury Park\" class=\"wp-image-173016\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Finsbury Park\/Credit: Getty<\/figcaption><\/figure><h4>2. McKenzie Flower Garden<\/h4><p>At a fingerpost, turn right (signed \u2018Stoke Newington 3m\u2019) to cross a park road and pass to the right of a caf\u00e9 and playground. Go through McKenzie Flower Garden with a lake to your left and continue along the path, following Capital Ring signs. New River<\/h4><p>Cross the road at the pedestrian lights, turn left and after 15m go through a large kissing gate onto the New River. Follow the New River Path for approximately 3km, carefully crossing the Seven Sisters Road and accompanying the river as it passes two large reservoirs and Woodberry Wetlands (well worth a visit and has a caf\u00e9\/toilets). Clissold Park<\/h4><p>Turn left, crossing Brownswood Road and continue ahead for 250m until you reach Clissold Park on your left. Go through the gate and straight ahead.<\/p><h4>5. Clissold House<\/h4><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>After 50m, bear left on a tarmac path to walk around a lake to your right. At the end of the lake, go straight ahead along a wide tarmac tree-lined track towards Clissold House. At the mansion, turn left along a tarmac track. Abney Park cemetery<\/h4><p>Turn left and walk for 700m along the pavement. There is no sign announcing Abney Park cemetery, so look out for a path going up a ramp to your left rising to iron gates with gravestones beyond. Go through the gates, turn left and very soon turn left again onto a path heading into the cemetery.<\/p><h4>7. Stoke Newington<\/h4><p>When you come to a statue on your right of a life-sized lion on the grave of Frank Bostock, turn right along a wide track. At the end, go through ornamental gates and onto Stamford Hill. It ends at Stoke Newington Overground station.<\/p><h4>Terrain<\/h4><p>First and last sections are on pavement and tarmac paths through parks. Parts of the New River Path and Abney Park can get muddy in wet weather.
