The popular BBC show The Great British Sewing Bee<\/em> is filmed at Sunny Bank Mills, a famous 19th-century woollen mill located just outside of Leeds in Farsley, West Yorkshire<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p> The series moved here in 2022 \u2013 it had previously been filmed in The Chainstore on Trinity Buoy, London, where the BBC’s\u00a0Dragon\u2019s Den<\/em> is filmed.<\/p> At the time of the move, Sewing Bee<\/em> judge Patrick Grant said: “Leeds is at the heart of the wool and textile industry so it feels appropriate to film in a great big spinning mill.”<\/p> The mill’s brick industrial interiors and large windows provide a great backdrop to the contestants’ colourful creations.<\/p> The first series of The Great British Sewing Bee<\/em> took place in 2013, as a spin-off idea from the equally popular Great British Bake Off<\/em>. <\/p> Sunny Bank Mills<\/strong> is no stranger to filming, as it also been used as a filming location for Emmerdale<\/em><\/a> and Heartbeat<\/em>.<\/p> Sunny Bank Mills<\/strong> owes its existence to a group of local clothiers, who, in 1829, united to buy land and build their own mill.
