There are plenty of walking groups out there but finding one the suits your specific needs \u2013 particularly if you&#8217;re disabled \u2013 is the key to making the most of them.<\/strong><\/p><p>In this quick guide, we take a look 10 great walking groups for people with disabilities.<\/p><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/go-outdoors\/walks\/wheelchair-friendly-trails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">20 spectacular wheelchair-friendly walks<\/a><\/li><\/ul><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-london-blind-ramblers\">London Blind Ramblers<\/h3><p>This group for blind and partially sighted people organises about 30 walks in the spring and summer, usually starting from a London train or Tube station. Routes are six to eight miles.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/londonblindramblers.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">londonblindramblers.org.uk<\/a><\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sheffield-visually-impaired-walking-group\">Sheffield Visually Impaired Walking Group<\/h3><p>Operating in South Yorkshire and the Peak District, this group organises walks of varying levels of difficulty, including challenging hikes in the hills. Most walks are accessible by public transport. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.halifaxblindsociety.org.uk\/walking-group\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">halifaxblindsociety.org.uk\/walking-group<\/a><\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-north-wales-society-of-the-blind-eryri-walking-group\">North Wales Society of the Blind Eryri Walking Group<\/h3><p>Club members and volunteers meet once a month for walks in and around Anglesey, Conwy and Gwynedd. Social events include a Christmas party. The group is based in Bangor.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nwsb.org.uk\/en\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nwsb.org.uk<\/a>\u00a0<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sense-adventures\">Sense Adventures<\/h3><p>Sense Adventures is a not-for-profit company that, for a small fee, leads blind and visually impaired people on day rambles and walking holidays in the Malvern Hills. One-to-one guides are provided.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.senseadventures.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">senseadventures.co.uk<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-disabled-ramblers\">Disabled Ramblers<\/h3><p>As well as having an annual programme of 25-30 rambles \u2013 suitable for mobility scooters \u2013 this small charity works to improve accessibility and campaigns to raise awareness. It operates throughout England and Wales. <a href=\"https:\/\/disabledramblers.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">disabledramblers.co.uk<\/a><\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-highland-disabled-ramblers\">Highland Disabled Ramblers<\/h3><p>Highland residents and visitors are welcome to join any of the 11 rambles between April and November.
