With a rich diversity of habitats \u2013 woodland and reedbed, heath and beach, scrub and scrape \u2013 that are home to 6,000 species of plants and animals, little wonder that the RSPB\u2019<\/a>s fourth-oldest reserve hosted BBC Springwatch for three consecutive series. <\/strong><\/p>

Located near the village of Westleton on the Suffolk coast in England. The reserve is part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).<\/p>
What to see at RSPB Minsmere<\/h2>
<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Watch the team at Springwatch introduce the many highlights of RSPB Minsmere.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><p>Visitors to Minsmere\u2019s 1,011 hectares can see plenty of wildlife whatever the season as vast reedbeds glister gold in the wintry sun before turning verdant in summer – this realm is painstakingly managed to accommodate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/wildlife\/birds\/marsh-harrier-guide-identification-distribution-and-where-to-see\">marsh harriers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/wildlife\/where-to-see\/guide-to-kestrels-how-to-identify-and-where-to-see\">kestrels<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/wildlife\/how-to-identify\/birds-guide-to-britains-tit-species\">bearded tits,<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/go-outdoors\/days-out\/how-and-where-to-spot-otters\">otters<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/wildlife\/birds\/guide-to-britains-herons-bitterns-and-cranes\">bitterns<\/a>. <\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/wildlife\/adder\">Adders<\/a> love Minsmere\u2019s lilac heaths and rolling sand dunes. Mid-April is prime time to gawp at males writhing in combat when vying for females. <\/p><p>In both landscapes, Dartford <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countryfile.com\/wildlife\/birds\/warblers\">warblers<\/a> scold from gorse clumps: these punk coiffured birds are now re-established in Suffolk after 50 years\u2019 absence. The muddy, island-dotted lagoon known as \u2018The Scrape\u2019 drips birds at any season. <\/p><p>Ducks and gulls cram the water in the colder months.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-to-see-and-do-at-minsmere\">What to see and do at Minsmere<\/h2><p>RSPB Minsmere offers several hides catering to different viewing experiences. Some hides provide easy access and panoramic views, while others require climbing steps for a closer look at specific habitats like woodlands and reedbeds.
