Best walks in Anglesey<\/h2>
Llanddwyn Island and Newborough Warren<\/h3>
The enchanting Llanddwyn Island and Newborough Warren<\/a> present many exciting opportunities for children to explore sand dunes<\/a> and learn about the history and mythology of the area.<\/p>
Llanddwyn Island is part of the Newborough Warren Nature Reserve and you are advised to stay on the paths at all times. The most spectacular path on the island follows the coastline, with views towards Snowdonia<\/a> and the Llyn Peninsula<\/a>.<\/p>
Traeth yr Ora<\/h3>

The isolated, sandy beach of Taeth yr Ora<\/a> lies midway between the villages of Benllech and Amlwch <\/strong>on the\u00a0north-east coast of Anglesey.<\/p>
The cove can only be accessed by foot or boat, meaning few people venture to this remote spot. Sheltered by small headlands, it is a fantastic place for swimming, exploring or just relaxing on a sunny afternoon.<\/p>

Cemaes<\/h3>

South Stack walk<\/h3>

Near the bottom of the steps to South Stack Lighthouse is a seat for one carved into a fissured rock, from which you can peer through to the\u00a0South Stack Cliffs<\/a>.<\/p>
It\u2019s a strange experience, if you know the cliffs in summer, to see them in winter. In the warmer months, they\u2019re alive with 10,000 breeding\u00a0puffins<\/a>, guillemots, razorbills, fulmar petrels, shags and kittiwakes, noisily making use of the ledges.<\/p>
Red Wharf Bay<\/h3>

Red Wharf Bay\u00a0is named after a battle between the Welsh and Viking invaders in 1170, when the beach was left soaked in blood. It\u2019s more peaceful today \u2013 fringed by pinewoods it\u2019s one of the largest bays in Anglesey. Time your walk to be three hours either side of low tide to get the best of the sands.<\/p>
Moelfre walk<\/h3>

Traeth Lligwy is a beautiful, delightfully spacious, sheltered, unspoilt beach bordered by low sand dunes and cliffs on the north-east coast of\u00a0Anglesey<\/a>. Soft sand shelves gently to the sea, offering plenty of room for bathing.<\/p>

Cemaes at Anglesey<\/figcaption><\/figure> Coastal marvels come in many forms, and nowhere is this more palpable than on the northern shores of Anglesey, where twinkling seas, sandy bays and mighty cliffs offer a canvas for some of Wales\u2019 most striking historic relics.<\/p>
The wild and bumpy coastline to the north-east is strewn with fascinating historical evidence of the goings on in this far-flung corner of Wales. It means that a walk along it does not merely offer the prospect of a pleasant day out. <\/p>
Come exploring here and you\u2019ll find yourself tossed from one period of history to another in such an arbitrary manner that, by the end, you\u2019ll suspect you\u2019ve been riding in a time machine whose controls have been set to \u2018random\u2019.<\/p>
