A father and daughter were amazed to find the multicolour nudibranch while rockpooling near Wembury on the south coast of Devon. <\/p>

A father and daughter recently made an amazing discovery when they were rockpooling<\/a> near Wembury in Devon. Felix Lever and her father Ashley found a 3cm\u00a0rainbow\u00a0sea slug, which has never been recorded in Devon before.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

\u201cAs far as we know, this is the first record for Wembury Marine Conservation Area,\u201d says Coral Smith,\u00a0 Devon Wildlife Trust<\/a>\u2019s Marine Engagement Officer. <\/p>

This spectacular slug is usually found in the Mediterranean and its presence in UK waters may be due to waters warming as a result of climate change.<\/p>
For Felix\u2019s grandfather\u00a0 Dr Paul Naylor<\/a>, who captured the video footage, this special local find highlights the importance of Wembury for marine creatures. \u201c[My family] got the marine life \u2018bug\u2019 when they started coming to Wembury. It\u2019s such an iconic place for marine education and conservation,\u201d he says.<\/p>
