For example,\u00a0approaching\u00a0a horse from their\u00a0side, rather than from directly behind, lets them see you clearly, reducing the likelihood that they\u2019ll startle.<\/p> Similarly, being mindful of sudden movements and noises around horses can help keep them calm. When leading or riding a horse,\u00a0sudden fast movements from cars, cyclists or unannounced runners may startle them.\u00a0<\/p> Recognising how\u00a0a horse\u00a0sees\u00a0the world can go a long way in building trust.
