Meet Mya-Rose Craig, the ornithologist also known as ‘Birdgirl’ <\/p>
Mya-Rose Craig is a British-Bangladeshi ornithologist, also known as Birdgirl. She set up the Birdgirl<\/a> blog aged 11.<\/p> At 17, she became the youngest person to see half of the birds in the world.<\/p> Mya-Rose Craig is also an environmentalist, activist (she founded and is the President of Black2Nature<\/a>), author, speaker and broadcaster.<\/p> Mya-Rose Craig was born on 7th May 2002.<\/p> Mya-Rose Craig is from Chew Valley, Somerset.<\/p> In February 2020, Craig received an honorary doctorate in science from Bristol University for championing racial equality in environmentalism. She is studying Human Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge University.<\/p> In 2021, Craig published We Have a Dream, which profiles 30 young indigenous people and people of colour environmentalists from around the world. Chris Packham<\/a> has described it as ‘Inspiring, enlightening and powerful. We have to make these dreams come true.’<\/p> In 2022, Craig wrote her autobiography Birdgirl documenting her life and her birdwatching experiences.<\/p> In 2023, Craig published the children\u2019s book Flight, which follows the migration of 7 bird species.<\/p>
