I was on top of the world,\u201d he said later. \u201cWhether politics and religion had something to do with it I don\u2019t know, but they behaved like animals.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.historyextra.com\/on-this-day\/28-june-on-this-day-in-history\/&quot;\">28 June<\/a><\/h2>\n<h4>1846: The saxophone is invented<\/h4>\n<p>Having devised instruments such as the saxhorn and the saxotromba, Belgian inventor Adolphe Sax hits the jackpot with his patent for a single-reed instrument made of brass.
