On 3 September 1650, Oliver Cromwell won the battle of Dunbar; exactly a year later, 3 September 1651, he won at Worcester. If that date didn’t already have enough significance, the lord protector then died on 3 September 1658.

QE… WHO?

The luxury cruise ship Queen Elizabeth 2 (or QE2) was not named after the monarch who launched it in 1967, but an earlier Cunard liner. The Queen christened it “the second” in the ceremony, and the name stuck.
