Who was Brahms?

Something of a traditionalist, Brahms worshipped the classical forms of Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach, which he managed to infuse with his own rich harmonic language and lyrical expressiveness. He was a master in many forms including the piano concerto, symphony, solo piano, voice, and many different chamber music configurations.
