What’s on at the BBC Proms today?
Prom 34 (Wednesday 14 August) is Reel Change: Soundtracks at the Cutting Edge. It features the London Contemporary Orchestra and conductor Robert Ames performing music from a series of adventurous and memorable film soundtracks.

These include Hildur Guðnadóttir’s music to the acclaimed film Tár, in which Cate Blanchett portrayed an autocratic female conductor. There’s also music from Isobel Waller-Bridge’s score for The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse, a captivating animated adaptation of a much-loved children’s book.
Other scores from which you’ll hear excerpts include Anna Meredith’s music for The End We Start From, Son Lux’s for Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Jung Jae-il’s music for the acclaimed TV series Squid Game, which memorably included music by Beethoven, Haydn and Johann Strauss II alongside Jung’s own compositions. You’ll also hear Max Richter’s seven-minute work On the Nature of Daylight.
