Elizabeth was the first British monarch to have her funeral in the abbey since George II in 1760.<\/p>\n<p>On the morning of the funeral, the Queen\u2019s coffin was carried from Westminster Hall, where it had lain in state for several days, to Westminster Abbey. The arrival of the coffin occurred at 11am, and was followed by two minutes\u2019 silence.<\/p>\n<p>After the funeral, the coffin was carried on a procession to Hyde Park Corner. It was then transported by hearse to Windsor Castle, which is where British sovereigns are laid to rest in the royal vault.<\/p>\n<h2>What hymns were sung at Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s funeral?<\/h2>\n<p>Hymns sung at the Queen\u2019s funeral included <strong><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/articles\/what-are-the-lyrics-to-the-hymn-lord-is-my-shepherd\/&quot;\">\u2018The Lord\u2019s My Shepherd\u2019<\/a><\/strong>, a <strong><a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/works\/queens-favourite-hymns\/&quot;\">favourite hymn of Elizabeth\u2019s<\/a><\/strong>.
