Marenzio was one of Italy\u2019s many great <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/composers\/best-renaissance-composers\/&quot;\"><strong>Renaissance composers<\/strong><\/a>, alongside the likes of <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/composers\/claudio-monteverdi\/&quot;\"><strong>Monteverdi<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/composers\/carlo-gesualdo\/&quot;\"><strong>Gesualdo<\/strong><\/a>, both of whom feature in our list of <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/composers\/best-italian-composers-of-all-time\/&quot;\"><strong>best Italian composers<\/strong><\/a>.
