Juan Diego Fl\u00f3rez is a famous Peruvian operatic\u00a0tenor. His breakthrough came in 1996 when, at the Rossini Festival\u00a0in the Italian city of\u00a0Pesaro, he performed the leading tenor role in Matilde di Shabran.<\/i><\/p>\n
In \u00a0June\u00a0 2007, he was awarded his country\u2019s highest decoration, the Knight Grand Cross in the\u00a0Order of the Sun of Peru<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n

Marvellous purity of tone and breathtaking virtuosity make his singing irresistible, coupled with good looks and delight in performance.<\/p>\n<p>His ability to stimulate even the most jaded opera palettes was demonstrated when, overturning an iron-clad tradition, the famously strict <strong><a href=\""https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/articles\/when-was-milans-la-scala-built\/"\">La Scala<\/a><\/strong> audience demanded an encore of \u2018Oh, mes amis\u2019 from Donizetti\u2019s <em>La fille du r\u00e9giment<\/em>, with its heroic sequence of nine\u00a0top Cs.
