For the coronation of King Charles III<\/a> <\/strong>composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, has been asked to set a new coronation anthem to the Biblical text of Psalm 98. Loyd Webber is not the first composer to set the psalm to music, with other illustrious names including Claudio Monteverdi<\/a>,\u00a0Marc-Antoine Charpentier,\u00a0Dieterich Buxtehude\u00a0and\u00a0 Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Psalm 98\u00a0is the 98th psalm of the\u00a0Book of Psalms, in the King James Bible<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Psalm 98<\/h2>\n
O sing unto the LORD<\/span>\u00a0a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.<\/li>\n
The LORD<\/span>\u00a0hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.<\/li>\n
He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.<\/li>\n
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD<\/span>, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.<\/li>\n
Sing unto the LORD<\/span>\u00a0with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm<\/li>\n
With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD<\/span>, the King.<\/li>\n
Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.<\/li>\n
Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together<\/li>\n
Before the LORD<\/span>; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
