The UK has a dizzying array of military bands. But which of them will play during the coronation? And what will they play? Here is everything you need to know about the role of military musicians on the big day <\/p>

How many military bands are there in the UK?<\/strong><\/h2>\n
Fewer now than there were back in the \u201990s, when the number of army military bands was reduced from 69 to 22 bands. The year prior to that Richard Morrison<\/strong><\/a> wrote in The Times <\/i>that \u2018one of the oddest statistics about British cultural life is that the Defence Ministry spends more to maintain military bands than the government spends on all the professional orchestras.\u2019\u00a0 <\/span>Despite the cut backs, however, there is still a dizzying array of military bands.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\""p1"\"><strong>Can you list all the bands?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\""p1"\">That would take a while. It\u2019s enough to say for now that British military bands are drawn from the music departments of the three armed forces services: the Royal Marines Band Service (from the Royal Navy), the Royal Corps of Army Music (from the British Army) and the Royal Air Force Music (Royal Air Force).
