{"id":38347,"date":"2024-02-07T17:10:58","date_gmt":"2024-02-07T16:10:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/329e3be5-096f-4f3a-b799-3c0b1b89f948"},"modified":"2024-02-07T17:39:57","modified_gmt":"2024-02-07T16:39:57","slug":"northern-ballet-to-replace-live-orchestra-with-recorded-music-in-upcoming-productions","status":"publish","type":"rss_feed","link":"https:\/\/c01.purpledshub.com\/bbcmusicmagazine\/rss_feed\/northern-ballet-to-replace-live-orchestra-with-recorded-music-in-upcoming-productions\/","title":{"rendered":"Northern Ballet to replace live orchestra with recorded music in upcoming productions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"rssexcerpt\"><\/p><p class=\"rssauthor\">By <\/p><p class=\"rssbyline\">Published: Wednesday, 07 February 2024 at 16:10 PM<\/p><hr class=\"no-tts wp-block-separator\"\/><?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\" standalone=\"yes\"?>\n<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC \"-\/\/W3C\/\/DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional\/\/EN\" \"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/REC-html40\/loose.dtd\">\n<html><body><p>Northern Ballet has confirmed its decision to replace its live orchestra with recorded music on several of its upcoming touring productions. <\/p><p>The decision comes after the company raised it as a possibility in September 2023, when Northern <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/works\/best-ballet-music\">Ballet<\/a><\/strong> announced that it had gone into negotiations with Northern Ballet Sinfonia and the Musicians&#8217; Union (MU) to address the amount of live music that would be used in its national tours in April 2024. <\/p><p>After the success of additional fundraising initiatives and cost-cutting measures, the Northern Ballet Sinfonia will join Northern Ballet&#8217;s full tour of <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/works\/romeo-and-juliet-music\">Romeo &amp; Juliet<\/a><\/strong> <\/em>in the spring, and a tour of <em>Jane Eyre <\/em>later in the year.
