The Lone Ranger<\/em>: Rossini’s William Tell<\/em> Overture<\/h2>

Rossini<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s lengthy opera about the exploits of the Swiss folk hero is best known for the final section of its overture<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 and much of its fame is thanks to The Lone Ranger<\/em>. The series, which started out on radio before migrating to television and the silver screen, followed the escapades of the masked hero and his companion Tonto as they fought injustice in the Old West of America.<\/p>

Rossini’s William Tell <\/em>Overture (or at least part of it) became the show’s signature tune. And in 2013’s Disney blockbuster of the same name, starring Johnny Depp, Rossini’s music once again played a starring role. <\/p>
