In something of an Estonian special, tonight’s conductor is T\u00fc\u00fcr’s compatriot Paavo J\u00e4rvi<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p> J\u00e4rvi and the BBC SO are also joined by the rising South Korean pianist Yunchan Lim<\/a><\/strong> for Beethoven<\/a><\/strong>‘s rousing, grandly beautiful Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the ‘Emperor’. After a grand, boisterous opening movement, the ‘Emperor’ features one of the most sublime slow movements in the piano concerto repertoire. It’s a deserved entry in our list of the greatest piano concertos of all time<\/a><\/strong> – in fact, it was one of the very first names on the teamsheet. <\/p> Yunchan Lim is a pianist from\u00a0South Korea.
