Written in 1901 soon after the twin masterpieces of the Enigma Variations<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and The Dream of Gerontius<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, Cockaigne<\/em> is loving portrait of the noise, energy and confidence of Edwardian London.
