Todays concert at the BBC Proms is a celebration of everyone\u2019s favourite Time Lord as the Royal Albert Hall is paid a visit by the TARDIS and a barnstorming programme of original music from Doctor Who<\/em> by composers Murray Gold and Segun Akinola.<\/p>

What\u2019s on at the BBC Proms today?<\/h2>
It\u2019s Proms 47 & 48 at the 2024 BBC Proms today. That\u2019s right, a double whammy of Time Lord tunes as the Proms welcomes back the\u00a0Doctor Who\u00a0<\/em>Prom.\u00a0<\/p>
This marks the fourth visit to the Proms for\u00a0Doctor Who<\/em>, following memorable concerts in 2008, 2010 and 2013.<\/p>
This year\u2019s shows feature original music from the latest series of\u00a0Doctor Who<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0by composer Murray Gold, including his brilliant new themes for the Fifteenth Doctor (played by Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson).<\/p>
<\/div><\/figure><p>Audiences can also expect to hear favourite themes from past adventures, including those written for David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi\u2019s Time Lords, all composed by Gold between 2005 and 2017.<\/p><p>Making his BBC Proms debut is composer Segun Akinola, whose music for Jodie Whittaker\u2019s Thirteenth Doctor will also make an appearance.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-will-ncuti-gatwa-be-at-the-doctor-who-prom\">Will Ncuti Gatwa be at the <em>Doctor Who<\/em> Prom?<\/h2><p>Full details about the\u00a0<em>Doctor Who<\/em>\u00a0Prom are a closely guarded secret, but you can be sure there will be plenty of surprises and things to see on screen and in the hall itself \u2013 that’s if past years are anything to go by!<\/p><p>One thing we do know is that Catherine Tate (Donna Noble in the show) will be presenting the concert, and it’s likely a monster or two will be lurking in the aisles.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-who-is-performing-at-the-bbc-proms-today\">Who is performing at the BBC Proms today?<\/h2><p><em>Doctor Who<\/em>\u2019s \u2018house band\u2019, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, will be performing the music, conducted by Alastair King. <\/p><p>They are joined by the London Philharmonic Choir, soprano Aida Garifullina<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and singers Shahid Abbas Khan, Hollie Buhagiar, Lucie Jones and Tobias Turley.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-will-the-doctor-who-prom-be-on-tv\">Will the <em>Doctor Who<\/em> Prom be on TV?<\/h2><p>The <em>Doctor Who<\/em> Prom will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 from 7pm. The concert will also be filmed for broadcast on television at a later date, so keep an eye out.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-time-is-tonight-s-prom\">What time is tonight\u2019s Prom?<\/h2><p>There\u2019s not one but two shows today.
