If you thought Peter Jackson had plundered JRR Tolkien\u2019s massive tome\u00a0The Lord of the Rings<\/em>\u00a0to its deepest depths with his three blockbuster films, you\u2019d be wrong.<\/p>

Showrunners Patrick Mackay and John D Payne returned to Tolkien\u2019s novel and its appendices to bring audiences\u00a0The Rings of Power<\/em>\u00a0in 2023. It\u2019s a story set thousands of years before the events we\u2019ve seen on screen in both\u00a0The Hobbit<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Lord of the Rings<\/em>\u00a0trilogies.<\/p>

The Rings of Power<\/em>, which has now returned for a second series, finds Middle Earth characters both familiar and new finally living in relative peace after a great war, though the dark shadow of the evil Sauron is growing and a set of powerful rings is forged that will change the lives of generations to come.<\/p>
