Canadian pianist\u00a0Jaeden Izik-Dzurko, 24, has won the 21st edition of the prestigious\u00a0Leeds International Piano Competition<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>

The announcement followed his performance of Brahms<\/a><\/strong>‘s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the\u00a0Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under chief conductor\u00a0Domingo Hindoyan<\/a><\/strong> at St George\u2019s Hall in Bradford.\u00a0<\/p>

Who is Jayden Izik-Dzurko?<\/h2>
Named one of ’30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30′ by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 2021, Jaeden Izik-Dzurko is a graduate of the Juilliard School<\/a><\/strong> and the University of British Columbia. With a passion for contemporary music, he also won first prizes at the 2022 Hilton Head International Piano Competition and the 2022 Maria Canals International Music Competition.<\/p>

Kai-Min Chang\u00a0(Taiwan) won Fourth Prize, and Julian Trevelyan (United Kingdom) took Fifth Prize.\u00a0<\/p>The medici.tv Audience Prize went to semi-finalist\u00a0Tomoharu Ushida\u00a0(Japan). Selected by online public vote via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medici.tv\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">medici.tv<\/a><\/strong>, Ushida will receive a future broadcast performance on the platform.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who was on the Leeds Competition jury?<\/h2>Dame Imogen Cooper chaired the international, artist-led jury. Its stellar list of alumni include Murray Perahia, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/news\/radu-lupu-tops-new-year-honours-list\">Radu Lupu<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/artists\/who-is-andras-schiff\">Andr\u00e1s Schiff<\/a><\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/news\/mitsuko-uchida-awarded-rps-gold-medal\">Mitsuko Uchida<\/a><\/strong>.
