Other Academy Fellows include: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/composers\/james-macmillan-2\">James M<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/news\/composer-james-macmillan-receives-ivors-academy-fellowship\">acMillan<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/composers\/john-rutter-composer\">John Rutter<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/composers\/judith-weir\">Judith Weir<\/a><\/strong>, Julian Joseph, Sting, Annie Lennox, Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen.<\/p> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/news\/errollyn-wallen-master-of-kings-music\">Errollyn Wallen is the new Master of the King&#8217;s Music<\/a><\/strong><\/li> <\/ul> <h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Ivors Classical Awards 2024 \u2013 Category Winners<\/h2> <p>The 2024 category winners are:<\/p> <p><strong>BEST CHAMBER ENSEMBLE COMPOSITION\u00a0<br\/><\/strong><em>Celebrating classical works composed for six to eighteen instruments, and for one instrument or voice per part.<\/em><\/p> <p><strong><em>Tomb!<\/em> composed by Laurence Osborn<br\/><\/strong><em>For strings, percussion and piano. Commissioned by Norfolk &amp; Norwich Festival, Cheltenham Festival and Kings Place and performed by 12 Ensemble and GBSR Duo on 19 May 2023 at St Andrew&#8217;s Hall, Norwich.<\/em><\/p> <p><strong>BEST CHORAL COMPOSITION<br\/><\/strong><em>Celebrating classical works specifically composed for voices; either a capella or accompanied.<\/em><\/p> <p><strong><em>The City, Full Of People <\/em>composed by Cassandra Miller<br\/><\/strong><em>For mixed choir of 16 singers<\/em>. <em>Commissioned by \u00c9amonn Quinn of Louth Contemporary Music Society. The commission was jointly funded by Louth Contemporary Music Society and the Robert D. Bielecki Foundation. Performed by the National Chamber Choir Ireland, conducted by Paul Hillier, on 27 October 2023 at King&#8217;s College Chapel, Aberdeen as part of Aberdeen Sound Festival.
