These are areas that require separate study (due to their specific techniques and cultures), though there are some players who can move from one to another with ease.\u00a0<\/p> <ul class=\"wp-block-list\"> <li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/instruments\/weirdest-instruments\"><strong>&#8216;Somewhere between mesmerising and terrifying&#8217;: ten of the weirdest musical instruments out there<\/strong><\/a><\/li> <\/ul> <p>Usually an essential component of a symphony <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/articles\/what-instruments-make-up-an-orchestra\">orchestra<\/a><\/strong>, percussion players also perform in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.classical-music.com\/features\/musical-terms\/chamber-music\">chamber<\/a><\/strong> groups and are increasingly performing as soloists, as younger players are getting to grips with broader and deeper technical demands.
