One of the biggest hits at this year’s BBC Proms was a celebration of everyone\u2019s favourite Time Lord as the Royal Albert Hall is paid a visit by the TARDIS and a barnstorming programme of original music from Doctor Who<\/em> by composers Murray Gold and Segun Akinola. If you weren’t lucky enough to get a ticket, you can watch it the whole thing on TV on Christmas Eve!<\/p>

Who composed the Doctor Who<\/em> theme music?<\/a><\/li>
Doctor Who<\/em> voted UK’s favourite sci-fi theme tune…<\/a><\/li> <\/ul> If you want to see what else you missed at the Proms this year, head to our\u00a02024 BBC Proms guide<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for an overview of all the Proms. These included the 73 Proms taking place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, plus other Proms concerts around the UK –\u00a0chamber music<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in Aberdeen, Newport and Belfast, and weekend festivals in Bristol, Nottingham and Gateshead.<\/p>
What\u2019s on the programme for the Doctor Who Prom?<\/h2>
This was Prom 47 & 48 at the 2024 BBC Proms today. That\u2019s right, it was a double whammy of Time Lord tunes as the Proms welcomed back the\u00a0Doctor Who\u00a0<\/em>Prom.\u00a0<\/p>
It marked the fourth visit to the Proms for\u00a0Doctor Who<\/em>, following memorable concerts in 2008, 2010 and 2013.<\/p>
This year\u2019s shows featured original music from the latest series of\u00a0Doctor Who<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0by composer Murray Gold, including his brilliant new themes for the Fifteenth Doctor (played by Ncuti Gatwa) and Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson).<\/p>
