Researchers in a small 2018 study found\u00a0<a href=\"\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007%2Fs00234-018-2048-7&quot;\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"&quot;noopener&quot; noopener noreferrer\">tight\u00a0ties could\u00a0also\u00a0reduce blood flow to the brain by 7.5 per cent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0the body has ways of safely counteracting this change in pressure.\u00a0Things become more complicated when\u00a0people\u00a0have other health issues that lower their ability to cope with such changes, such as those who are obese, smoke or have high blood pressure.
