Best Early Black Friday Binoculars Deals
Nikon Prostaff P3 10×30 Binoculars, was £159, now £109
Buy now from Jessops
The Nikon Prostaff P3 binoculars are designed to be lightweight and compact. 10x magnification will give you good views of the Moon and will really open up the beauty of targets like the Pleiades and the Orion Nebula (the latter target, provided your skies are dark enough). As far as beginner and low-budget binoculars go, this early Black Friday binoculars deal is a good option.
Canon 14×32 Image Stablized binoculars, was £1499, now £1,199
Buy now from Amazon
Image stabilisation is a great feature in any pair of binoculars, as it corrects the natural shakes caused by holding the instrument up to your eyes for a prolonged period of time.
This model from Canon comes in a soft-padded Cordura case and has a 30mm-wide neck strap.
We observed double star Iota (ι) Cancri and activated the image stabiliser, whereupon the stars immediately split into the two components and remained separated until they were close to the edge of the field of view
When we activated the image stabiliser on the Pleiades or Kemble’s Cascade, not only did the image become still, but more stars became visible as we gained about a quarter of a magnitude in depth.
We really enjoyed the Canon IS 14×32 for deep-sky observing, but this is a great pair of binoculars for all-round use.

Bresser Spezial Astro SF 15×70 binoculars, was £297, now £244
Buy now from Amazon
The Spezial Astro SF 15x70s come with a nylon case and padded neck strap, as well as tethered objective lens caps, rain guard eyepiece covers, cleaning cloth and instruction leaflet, making this a pretty good setup for experienced binocular observers who like to keep their bins in good shape.
Indeed, where the Spezial Astro SF 15x70s really come into their own is when observing deep-sky objects. The Andromeda Galaxy, M31, was wonderfully crips and bright, while companion galaxies M32 and M110 were obvious.
Much fainter galaxies M33, M51 and M101 were all easily identified, even when the binoculars were handheld.
This is a great pair of binoculars for astronomers or perhaps seasoned beginners who are looking for their next pair.

When is Black Friday 2023?
Black Friday falls on the last Friday of November, which is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the US.
Black Friday 2023 is on 24 November, but sales will begin much earlier than that. If you’re on the lookout for a Black Friday deal, there are usually a good number of bargains to be found all throughout November.
How to get a good deal on Black Friday 2023
With so many retailers promoting deals and offers, it can be tricky knowing where to begin.
It’s worth doing your research beforehand. Is there a specific brand of binoculars you’re interested in, or an exact model you’ve got your eye on? Note down pricings prior to the sale to ensure you’re bagging an actual bargain.
Signing up to retailer newsletters is an effortless way to be kept in the loop over the sales event.
Finally, tools such as CamelCamelCamel can also help during Black Friday, especially for Amazon-related shopping. The extension monitors the prices of products on Amazon and lets you know if you’re securing the best possible deal.
Why Black Friday?
Many of the UK shops that embrace Black Friday are electronic and camera retailers, so there are usually good discounts and deals on telescopes, binoculars and other astronomy equipment to be found. With such equipment often costing hundreds, or even thousands, it’s well worth holding out for a sales event before you invest.
