The Royal Observatory Greenwich has announced there are just two weeks left to enter the Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition before entries for the 2024 awards close on 5 March.

£10,000 is on offer to the winner of APY 16, which is open to seasoned astro imagers and complete beginners alike.

The competition, now in its 16th year, has nine main categories covering a variety of astronomical subjects, from nearby Solar System objects to deep-sky behemoths.

Any astro image captured after 1 January 2023 can be entered into this year’s Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition.
