We look at these in <a href=\"navto:\/\/index\/52\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"navto:\/\/index\/52\">Q&amp;A<\/a> when Ezzy Pearson speaks to the Director of Sciences and Exploration at NASA\u2019s Goddard Space Flight Center about the science that the JWST will deliver from its destination in deep space. Then in <a href=\"navto:\/\/index\/17\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"navto:\/\/index\/17\">Cutting Edge<\/a>, Chris Lintott and Lewis Dartnell pick out some of the scientific proposals for Webb\u2019s time which have caught their eye.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"article-full-body sans-serif\">Once launched, Webb will go through around 50 major stages of deployment as it unfurls from the nose cone of its launch rocket. This all takes place over two weeks \u2013 during which time this issue should have reached you \u2013 as the JWST travels to the Sun\u2013Earth L2 Lagrange point, 1.5 million kilometres away. We wish it well on its voyage!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"article-full-body sans-serif\">Our view of the stars holds much to look forward to next year too.
