normally not be seen in optical light.<\/p>\n<p class=\"&quot;p1&quot;\">Here, the space telescope has revealed thousands of <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.skyatnightmagazine.com\/space-science\/beginners-guide-stars\/&quot;\">stars<\/a> in this stellar nursery \u2013 also known as 30 Doradus \u2013 that have never been seen before by astronomers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"&quot;p1&quot;\">Indeed, previous images of the Tarantula Nebula had shown off the wispy tendrils that give the region its name, but this new image from the James Webb Telescope goes beyond what is visible to the human eye.<\/p>\n<p class=\"&quot;p1&quot;\">The image also reveals many distant background <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.skyatnightmagazine.com\/space-science\/a-guide-to-galaxies\/&quot;\">galaxies<\/a>, giving astronomers a view of the deep sky as well as the gas and dust structures of this star-forming region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"&quot;p1&quot;\">This has all been made possible by one of Webb\u2019s instruments known as the Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam), which gives a clear view of the central cavity in the <a href=\"&quot;https:\/\/www.skyatnightmagazine.com\/space-science\/beginners-guide-nebulae\/&quot;\">nebula<\/a>, hollowed out by powerful radiation from massive, young,
