through the scope is focused) so that a \u2018pencil\u2019 of parallel light rays, known as the exit pupil, enters the pupil of the observer\u2019s eye.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"&quot;p1&quot;\"><span class=\"&quot;s1&quot;\">When the eyepiece is in focus, its focal length is the distance from the scope\u2019s focal plane to the point inside the eyepiece where the light rays become parallel thanks
