Credit: NASA\/Goddard\/Arizona State University<\/figcaption><\/figure><p>However, it emerged in the days following the landing that the Odysseus lander had actually tipped on its side on the surface of the Moon.<\/p><p>NASA&#8217;s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter passed over the Odysseus landing site, near crater Malapert A in the lunar South Pole, on 24 February and captured these images.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full has-lightbox\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/c02.purpledshub.com\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2024\/02\/lunar-reconnaissance-orbiter-odysseus-lander-without-arrow.jpg\" alt=\"Image without arrow showing location of Odysseus lander on the Moon.
